Galaxy A57 May Deliver Solid Performance Upgrades, Early Geekbench Hints

It seems that the upcoming Galaxy A lineup will be exciting. Yesterday, we reported that the Galaxy A7x might be preparing for a comeback after several years away. Now a new benchmark listing shows that some performance upgrades may be on the way for the Galaxy A57, which arrives next year.
The upcoming Galaxy A57 surfaces on Geekbench revealing performance gains
A new Geekbench listing spotted by Abhishek Yadav shows the Galaxy A57 running Samsung’s next mid-range chip, the Exynos 1680. This will succeed the Exynos 1580, but Samsung is not simply raising clock speeds and calling it a day. The big change is in the CPU layout, which has shifted to a 1+4+3 setup. This is a significant change compared to the Galaxy A56’s 1+3+4 arrangement.

You still get one prime core that peaks at around 2.91 GHz, but there are now four performance cores for sustained tasks and three efficiency cores to keep temperatures and power consumption under control. The listing also mentions 12 GB of RAM and Android 16 out of the box.
In terms of performance, the prototype scored 1,311 points in single-core tests and 4,347 in multi-core tests. These are not dramatic gains, but they suggest the A57 may deliver a bit more consistent performance than its predecessor. The presence of the Xclipse 550 GPU is another subtle improvement.
Of course, benchmark results only tell part of the story. Most people will want to know whether Samsung keeps the rest of the package familiar. A bright AMOLED display, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000 mAh battery seem like safe assumptions. The camera setup is still uncertain, though. If Samsung follows its usual schedule, the Galaxy A57 should appear around March.
