Samsung is on a roll today. After rolling out the One UI 7 update to several devices in the last 24 hours, it’s now pushing out the monthly security updates to the newly launched A-series midrangers. The latest April 2025 security patch is being rolled out to both the Galaxy A56 and A36 in major markets like Europe, India, and the UAE.

In addition to the April 2025 security patch, the Galaxy A56 and A36 now support the Seamless Updates feature. This allows the phones to install updates in the background while you continue using them. Once the update is finished, all you need to do is restart your phone, and the changes will take effect. Yup, no more long and rather annoying installation times.
The update comes at approx 411MB for the Galaxy A56. As shared by updates tracker @KeepUPwithOneUI, the firmware version are A566EXXS2AYD4 and A366EXXS2AYC7 for Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36, respectively. You can check out if the update is available for you by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
While there aren’t any big new features in this update, it’s important for keeping the devices secure and fixing any vulnerabilities. With regular monthly updates in the early years, both the A56 and A36 will stay well-supported and keep getting essential fixes and improvements. They’re both getting six years of software updates, so this is just the start.
The Galaxy A56 is not available in the US yet, but Samsung plans to release it later this year. Samsung has confirmed it will launch at a starting price of $499.99. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, you can consider the Galaxy A36, which may still have some ongoing offers.
