Samsung rolls out January 2026 security update to the Galaxy A55 in Europe
Samsung is now rolling out the January 2026 security update to the Galaxy A55 in Europe. The rollout first began in Korea, where the phone is sold as the Galaxy Quantum 5. The update carries build version A556BXXSCCZA1 and weighs in at around 321.73MB.
The January 2026 security update for Galaxy devices fixes 55 security issues. Some come from Android itself, while others are problems found in Samsung’s own software, mainly related to One UI. Most of the flaws are in Samsung features rather than Android. The risk level ranges from medium to critical, so installing the update is important for keeping devices secure.
If you have a Galaxy A55 and live in Europe, you can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, tap Install now, and your phone will reboot with the latest security patch. It’s important to keep your device up to date with the latest security fixes.
That said, Samsung is also testing One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A55, which the company is expected to roll out a few weeks after the Galaxy S26 series becomes official. There’s likely no chance the Galaxy A55 will get access to the One UI 8.5 beta, so users will have to wait a few more weeks for the stable release.
