A few hours ago, Samsung rolled out the fourth One UI 7.0 beta update for the Galaxy S24 series. It could be the final beta release before the stable rollout next month. While Galaxy users wait for confirmation, the Korean firm is rapidly pushing the February security patch to eligible devices. The Galaxy A54, A13, and A13 5G recently received this month’s security update.

February security update reaches the Galaxy A54 and A13 duo

Samsung’s One UI 7.0 update may be facing indefinite delays, but the company has been rolling out monthly security patches on time. The February build, aka SMR (Security Maintenance Release), has already reached nearly 30 Galaxy phones and tablets, including all recent flagships, across various parts of the world. A few more models received the update today.

As of this writing, the Galaxy A54 is picking up the February SMR in Europe. The update introduces the firmware build number A546BXXSBCYB1 to this premium mid-range smartphone. “The security of your device has been improved,” the official changelog states, confirming that the update is all about this month’s security fixes.

We know that Samsung’s changelogs often don’t tell the full story. However, in this case, the Galaxy A54 is only receiving the 40-odd security fixes found in Samsung’s February 2025 SMR. These include one critical Android OS flaw and dozens of high-severity vulnerabilities across Android OS and Samsung’s custom software. The phone isn’t getting any new features or functional enhancements.

The same goes for the Galaxy A13 and Galaxy A13 5G, which are picking up the latest SMR in Europe and the US. Their new build numbers are A135USQSBEYA1 and A136BXXSADYB1 respectively. Unfortunately, these two entry-level phones aren’t eligible for One UI 7.0, which introduces Android 15 to Galaxy devices. As mentioned above, Samsung is expected to begin the stable One UI 7.0 rollout in March.
