Samsung’s One UI 8 rollout has picked up pace, with more devices receiving the latest update earlier today. The One UI 8 update for the Galaxy A53 is still more than twenty days away. And for now, Samsung has already begun rolling out the September 2025 security patch to Galaxy A53.
September 2025 security update now rolling out to Galaxy A53!
Updates tracker Akhilesh Kumar reports that Samsung has started rolling out the September 2025 security update to Galaxy A53 users in India. The build version is A536EXXSHFYI4. The update is still based on One UI 7, but it brings the latest security improvements, which is quite important.

The September 2025 security patch fixes 58 high-severity Android issues, two critical flaws, and a semiconductor bug in Exynos caused by a buffer copy error. In addition, Samsung addressed 25 unique security issues (SVEs) that only affect Galaxy phones, tablets, and smartwatches.
If you have a Galaxy A53 and live in India, you can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to update your device. Make sure your phone has enough battery and that you’re preferably on Wi-Fi. Once that’s sorted, you can go ahead with the update.
A previously shared official timeline suggested that Samsung will roll out the One UI 8 update to the Galaxy A53 and other devices on October 16. This update will also be the final major update for the Galaxy A53, after which it will only receive security updates. The phone debuted in March 2022, so it will likely also get One UI 8.5, which has been leaking heavily.
