Samsung just deleted its One UI 7 rollout announcement for the US without any explanation, leaving fans wondering if a delay is incoming. Meanwhile, its March security update continues to reach more eligible Galaxy devices worldwide. The Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A16 are the latest to receive this month’s security patch.
March security update available for Samsung’s Galaxy A52 and A16
As of this writing, Samsung’s March SMR (Security Maintenance Release) is available for the 4G versions of the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A16 in select markets. The former is picking up the update in Asia with the firmware build number A525FXXSBFYC1, while the latter’s update is rolling out in Europe with the build number A165FXXS2AYB2.
Both models are getting nothing more than this month’s security fixes. Samsung’s latest SMR contains 11 critical Android OS fixes and a bunch of other Galaxy-specific vulnerability patches. In total, this update addresses over 50 security vulnerabilities across the Galaxy family. Samsung will soon roll out these patches to the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A16 globally, including the 5G versions.
Both of these phones should receive Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7 update. As mentioned above, the company recently deleted the official press release announcing the One UI 7 rollout in the US. The update was supposed to go live on April 10 stateside. However, with the announcements now deleted, it’s unclear if the update faces a delay or if there’s some other explanation.
Samsung’s similar press releases for other markets are still live. In South Korea, the company begins the One UI 7 rollout on April 7. The same update comes to Asian countries a week later, on April 14. As usual, it will be a staggered release, meaning that some devices will receive the update before others. The Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will lead the line, followed by others.
