Samsung has begun rolling out the December 2025 security patch to Galaxy devices. This month, a mid-range phone leads the line, rather than a flagship. The Galaxy A34 5G is the first to get the latest security update, though it should soon roll out to the likes of Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Samsung kicks off December 2025 security patch rollout with Galaxy A34 5G

As of this writing, we can confirm the availability of this month’s security maintenance release (SMR) for the Galaxy S34 5G in Indonesia. The update arrives with the firmware build version A346EXXSBEYK3 and doesn’t bring anything more than the latest security fixes. The device is already running One UI 8, Samsung’s most recent OS version.

Samsung is expected to make the December 2025 update available for Galaxy A34 5G users in more regions over the coming days. Other Galaxy smartphones and tablets will also receive this month’s security patch gradually. Users can check for updates from Settings > Software update > Download and install. If no update shows up today, check back after a few days.

As far as the content is concerned, the December 2025 SMR for Galaxy devices includes 68 fixes addressing various flaws across Android OS and One UI components. At least six Android OS patches issued by Google are confirmed to be critical, potentially causing severe damage if exploited. You should always install new security updates on your phone when available.

While this update may not contain new features or enhancements for Galaxy A34 5G users, Samsung is working on One UI 8.5 with tons of goodies. This update will debut with the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026 and gradually expand to other models. The company should complete the rollout for all eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the first half of next year.
