In a way, Samsung’s One UI 8 stable release is already live on the latest foldables. Everyone who pre-ordered should have it running as soon as they receive their devices, most likely within the next week. Right on schedule, Samsung is ramping up testing for the Android 16-based One UI 8, with the Galaxy A33 and A53 being the latest models to join the list.

Samsung is now testing One UI 8 for the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53

As spotted by Akhilesh Kumar on X, Samsung has begun testing the Android 16-based One UI 8 for the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53. Notably, this will be the final major update for both devices. After that, they will continue to receive security updates through 2027.

The build numbers in question are A336BXXUDGYG1 for the Galaxy A33 and A536BXXUGGYG1 for the Galaxy A53. It’s important to note that this is internal testing, so the beta version isn’t available to the public. At this stage, Samsung is focused on identifying and fixing any bugs or glitches before releasing the stable version.

The Galaxy A33 and A53 are not expected to receive the One UI 8 beta, which is typically limited to higher-end devices. That means users will only get access to the final version once it’s fully ready and starts rolling out. There’s no official timeline yet. But based on past releases, it may take up to a month and a half after One UI 8 rolls out to the Galaxy S25 series.

As for One UI 8 itself, there will be plenty of new features to explore. Highlights include a new 90:10 split-screen layout for multitasking, along with significant updates and design changes to several Samsung apps. If you don’t want to wait, you can check out pre-order and trade-in deals on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.
