Galaxy A16 5G Picks Up July 2025 Security Update

Samsung is continuing its streak of timely software updates, and the latest to receive one is the budget-friendly Galaxy A16 5G. The Galaxy A16 5G has started getting the July 2025 security update in India, which suggests that other regions will receive it soon. If past rollouts are anything to go by, it shouldn’t take long and should happen in the coming weeks.
Samsung now rolling out July 2025 security update to the Galaxy A16 5G
As spotted by Mohammed Khatri, the July 2025 security update is now rolling out for the Galaxy A16 5G in India. The build number is A166PXXS5BYG2. Other phones in the same lineup, including the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36, have already received the July patch in multiple regions.
As expected, the update focuses solely on improving security and does not introduce any new features or major UI changes. Still, it’s an important release that patches several vulnerabilities found in both Android and Samsung’s One UI layer.
According to Samsung’s July 2025 security bulletin, the update addresses over 40 security issues, including high-risk Android OS flaws and multiple vulnerabilities specific to Galaxy devices. Users in India can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
The Galaxy A16 is one of Samsung’s most affordable smartphones, and it’s good to see it receiving regular monthly patches. With this update, Samsung continues to show that even its most budget-friendly phones are not an afterthought when it comes to software support.
Now, there is talk (and it’s quite expected) that its successor, the Galaxy A17, will be launching soon. In fact, renders have also leaked today, leaving very little to the imagination. What makes this particularly noteworthy is that the Galaxy A1x is one of the highest-selling smartphones in the world.
