Galaxy A06 Spotted with One UI 8.5 Test Build

Samsung is moving closer to the stable One UI 8.5 release, which is expected to roll out early this year. The company has started internal testing of this update for several Galaxy devices, ranging from flagships to budget models. Now, the Galaxy A06 4G has also surfaced with a One UI 8.5 test build on Samsung’s servers.

Samsung begins One UI 8.5 testing for Galaxy A06 4G

The Galaxy A06 4G has appeared with a One UI 8.5 build on test servers in Vietnam. The build carries the firmware version A065FXXU8DYL5. As of now, no One UI 8.5 build has appeared for the 5G version, but it should surface in the coming days. Like other models, the update is not expected to arrive anytime soon. The device should receive One UI 8.5 in the second quarter of this year.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A06 4G in September 2024. It shipped with One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 out of the box. The company promised two major Android OS updates for the device. Since One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 QPR2 and testing has already begun, the device should get the update. However, the Galaxy A06 4G will not be eligible for One UI 9.

One UI 8.5 beta program is already live for the Galaxy S25 series in select regions, giving us an idea of the changes coming with the stable release. We are looking at a major UI overhaul for system apps, as well as tons of new features and enhancements. Despite a mid-cycle “point” release, One UI 8.5 is a pretty huge update.

If your device has received the One UI 8 update, it will most likely pick up One UI 8.5 as well. So, even if a test build for your model has not appeared yet, there’s nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, you can check the list of Galaxy devices for which a One UI 8.5 build has surfaced here.
