Four Galaxy Phones Among Top 10 in Q2 2025 Global Smartphone Sales Chart

Samsung had a solid presence in the global smartphone market in the second quarter of 2025. Four Galaxy models secured positions in the top 10 best-selling list. Thanks to its diversified portfolio, ranging from affordable devices to high-end flagships, it has succeeded in catering to every type of buyer.
Samsung’s mid-range and flagship smartphones performed well in Q2 2025
Samsung’s Galaxy A lineup played a big role in driving great sales in Q2 2025. After all, the mid-range series continues to receive strong responses worldwide for offering quality-of-life features at an affordable price point. According to Counterpoint Research, the Galaxy A16 5G, A06 4G, and A16 4G secured 4th, 5th, and 7th places, respectively, in the list of global top 10 best-selling smartphones for Q2, 2025.

The top three spots were held by Apple’s iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 Pro. However, the Cupertino giant’s iPhone 15 suffered a big drop in sales, falling from 4th place in Q1 2025 to 10th place in Q2 2025. The latest iPhone 16e entered the top 10 list, thanks to strong sales in Japan and the US.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s most expensive Galaxy S smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, ranked 8th. Debuted in January this year, the flagship model is still selling well in global markets. It sold 10.98 million units through the end of July 2025. The market research firm says that “strong marketing around GenAI features and increased focus on flagship series from Samsung” helped the company maintain high sales.
Last month, the Korean firm launched its two new affordable smartphones, the Galaxy A17 5G and the Galaxy A07 4G. These devices succeeded the Galaxy A16 5G and A06 4G, respectively, with some meaningful upgrades. For example, A17 5G’s 50MP main camera now supports OIS, reducing shakes for sharp photos. So, we can expect them to feature in the global top-selling charts in the coming quarters.
