Samsung’s upcoming flagship lineup is starting to take shape, and today we have our first proper look at the Galaxy S26 Edge. CAD-based renders shared by Android Headlines give us a detailed preview of what could be Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy smartphone to date. The images showcase a sleek design up front and a strikingly large camera slab on the back.

Sign-ups for the Galaxy S26 Ultra Mystery Box are now open! You’ll get full more details soon, but count on more guaranteed items and bigger random prizes than ever. At minimum, your box includes a free case, screen protector, cleaning kit, and phone stand.

A closer look at the Galaxy S26 Edge design

The Galaxy S26 Edge adopts a clean, modern design with a flat display and uniform, ultra-thin bezels. A centered punch-hole camera sits at the top, while the power and volume buttons are placed neatly on the right side of the frame. The phone’s chassis is flat but slightly curved along the edges for improved comfort in the hand. Corners are also rounded, with the overall front design identical to the S25 Edge.

However, as soon as you flip the device to its back, there’s a massive change. Samsung has opted for a large camera slab that stretches across the rear panel. It looks nothing like the 2025 model’s vertical camera bump, despite the phone still housing just two cameras vertically aligned in the top-left corner. The new design stands out due to the phone’s thin profile.

Not only is the camera slab unusually large, but it is also substantially thick. In fact, the bumper is almost as thick as the phone itself. The report confirms rumors that the Galaxy S26 Edge measures 5.5mm in thickness (full dimensions are 158.4 x 75.7 x 5.5mm). However, when you include the camera bump, the thickness jumps to 10.8mm. This means the camera slab is 5.3mm thick.

This massive slab may be housing some internals, allowing Samsung to increase the battery capacity from 3,900mAh to 4,200mAh. Elsewhere, the phone reportedly keeps a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Performance will likely be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (Snapdragon 8 Elite 2) in most regions, while some markets could get Samsung’s Exynos 2600 processor.

Qi2 wireless charging with built-in magnets

One of the standout upgrades is the addition of built-in magnets with proper Qi2 support. This brings Galaxy devices in line with Apple’s MagSafe and Google’s new Qi2-enabled Pixel lineup, ensuring better alignment and efficiency when charging wirelessly. Perhaps this also explains a wider camera bump, as Samsung needs more space to fit magnets inside the phone. Could this come at the cost of reverse charging? We shall find out soon.

The Galaxy S26 Edge is expected to feature an upgraded 50MP ultrawide camera, replacing the 12MP sensor used in its predecessor. This could be the same sensor Samsung offers on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Details on the primary camera remain unconfirmed, but the 200MP lens may carry over unchanged. Samsung should officially unveil the Galaxy S26 lineup in January 2026.
