February 2026 Play System Update Arrives for Galaxy Phones

The February 2026 Google Play System update appears to be finally rolling out to Samsung Galaxy devices. As usual, the update brings new features and improvements to core Android services. The rollout should expand to more models in the coming days.
Galaxy devices receive February 2026 Google Play System update
While we haven’t received the February 2026 Google Play System update (GPSU) on any of our Galaxy phones yet, Aptivi recently shared screenshots confirming the rollout for some models. The exact file size may vary depending on the model and the current GPSU level, but these updates typically weigh less than 100MB.
For many users, the update comes as a relief. Some Galaxy devices had been stuck on the July 2025 Play System version, meaning they missed several monthly improvements delivered through Google’s modular Android update framework. The latest release will bundle all previous changes for those devices.
Google has already detailed the changes coming with the February 2026 version. Alongside typical bug fixes and optimizations, the update contains a couple of small user-facing tweaks. Gamers can now track progress across supported titles using trophies within the You tab in the Google Play Store. Meanwhile, users of tablets and large-screen devices will notice a persistent navigation bar that makes navigating the Play Store interface a bit easier.
These changes may appear minor, but Play System updates quietly update key Android modules responsible for networking, security frameworks, media services, and other underlying platform components.
Now that the February 2026 update is live, more Galaxy users can expect to receive it in the coming days. Given the irregular schedule over the past several months, there’s no guarantee that next month’s Play System updates will arrive right on time, so you’d better install what’s available. To check for the update, navigate to Settings > Security & privacy > Updates > Google Play system update. Once installed, the device may require a quick restart to finalize the update.
