Exynos Returns: Galaxy S26 Pro to Ship with 2nm Exynos 2600

The Galaxy S26 series is still months away, but leaks continue to paint a clear picture of what to expect. The latest finding confirms that the Galaxy S26 Pro runs on the Exynos 2600 in most regions, reinforcing Samsung’s renewed focus on its in-house silicon. The decision could play a key role in the company’s long-term chip strategy.

Galaxy S26 Pro to run Exynos 2600 in most markets

Reports about Samsung potentially equipping one or more Galaxy S26 models with an Exynos chipset aren’t new. After shipping the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with the 3nm Exynos 2500, the company was always likely to use an in-house processor in its next-gen flagships. Now, SamMobile claims that the Korean firm has finalized the 2nm Exynos 2600 for the base model, called the Galaxy S26 Pro.

According to the report, Samsung may sell the Exynos variant in most global markets. However, the US and China may continue to get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 version. The company may also do the same with the Galaxy S26+, which it added later in development. The Plus model was previously rumored to be dropped in favor of the S26 Edge. Samsung may now launch both.

It’s unclear if the Exynos 2600 will also feature in the Edge variant. The Galaxy S26 Ultra, meanwhile, is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 globally. Note that the Snapdragon is a 3nm processor, so the Exynos has a theoretical advantage in efficiency. That said, the real-world performance is what matters the most. Early leaks suggest the two chips are at par on raw performance.

If the early results hold up, the Exynos 2600 could mark a major comeback for Samsung’s in-house silicon. The Galaxy S26 Pro will serve as the first real-world test for the company’s 2nm process, and expectations are high. With the series launching in February 2026, we’ll soon see whether Samsung’s latest Exynos can finally go toe-to-toe with Qualcomm and Apple again.
