Early Rumor Claims Galaxy S27 Could Go All In On Snapdragon

The Galaxy S26 series may be old news before it is even official. The rumor mill is already talking about the Galaxy S27, which should launch early next year. One early claim says that all Galaxy S27 models will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.

Galaxy S27 rumored to ditch Exynos for Snapdragon across the lineup

Based on what we know so far, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ could ship with 2 nm Exynos 2600 chips in select regions. The Galaxy S26 Ultra, however, is expected to use the 3 nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in all markets. Naturally, one might assume Samsung would keep Exynos for the base Galaxy S27 models as well, but the rumor mill suggests otherwise.

According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Samsung’s next flagship, presumably the Galaxy S27 series, will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. More importantly, these chips are said to be based on Samsung’s 2 nm GAA process. This lines up with a recent report suggesting Samsung may secure more 2nm orders from Qualcomm.

Adding to that, another rumor claims the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro could use Samsung’s Heat-Pass Block technology to push past 5 GHz. The tipster also said clocks could reach even higher, possibly in the 5.5 to 6 GHz range. If true, that would put it in an extremely aggressive category for mobile silicon.

Still, you should take all of this with a grain of salt. The Galaxy S27 series could launch exclusively with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, but there’s also a decent chance the base models will use the Exynos 2700, which was recently spotted with a deca-core setup.

We still do not know much about the Galaxy S27 lineup. For starters, how many models will there be? Will Samsung launch a Pro or an Edge? There are plenty of open questions. We can expect more solid rumors in the coming months, since the series is likely at least a year away from its debut.
