Dynamic Wallpapers in One UI 8 Add Gradient Animations

by | May 16, 2025 | News, One UI

After uncovering a redesigned Auracast interface and updated notification settings, we’ve now spotted dynamic wallpapers in the upcoming One UI 8 update. Found in a leaked build, these wallpapers shift color as the day progresses, offering a subtle yet stylish way to personalize your Galaxy device. Samsung seems to be refining the visual experience across the board with these additions.

Dynamic wallpapers bring the day to life

These new wallpapers appear in the “Colors” section of the wallpaper settings. You can choose between four time-based color variations. Throughout the day, the background changes automatically:

  • Morning: Soft blue shades
  • Afternoon: Bright greens and blues
  • Evening: Warm reds and oranges
  • Night: Purples and dark blues

When you power on or unlock your phone, a smooth gradient animation plays. Once the animation ends, the final gradient becomes your wallpaper. If you set the same dynamic wallpaper for both your lock screen and home screen, the animation continues seamlessly between the two, making the unlocking experience feel polished and smooth.

Not limited to specific models

Unlike interactive wallpapers that are exclusive to models like the Galaxy S24 or S25, these dynamic wallpapers don’t appear to be device-specific. While we can’t confirm this until Samsung officially launches One UI 8 or more builds leak, early signs suggest broader compatibility across Galaxy devices.

You can access the new dynamic wallpapers in One UI 8 by going to Settings > Wallpaper and style > Change wallpaper > Colors. Samsung fans looking for a clean, modern look will appreciate this built-in option. It adds visual flair without needing to install third-party apps.

One UI 8 may not bring massive overhauls, but Samsung is clearly focused on refining the user experience. Features like dynamic wallpapers show how small design updates can make your device feel more alive and personal. The full release of One UI 8 is expected later in 2025.
