Circle to Search’s Scroll and Translate Update Coming to Galaxy Phones

Google is rolling out a useful upgrade to Circle to Search this week, and Samsung Galaxy users are the first to try it. The new feature, called Scroll and Translate, allows you to view translations in real time as you move through content. That includes scrolling a webpage, doomscrolling… err reading social media posts, or even switching between apps.

Until now, translation with Circle to Search was a little clunky. Each time you scrolled or the on-screen text changed, you had to restart the process. That limitation made it less convenient when dealing with long articles or feeds. With Scroll and Translate, translations keep up with you automatically, saving time and making the feature far more practical.

So, how can you use the Scroll and Translate? For that, you’ll just need to activate Circle to Search by long-pressing the navigation bar or home button, tap the Translate option, and select “Scroll and Translate.” Once enabled, the text on your screen updates continuously, with a subtle glow around the display and a small indicator showing which language is being used. You can stop at any time with a quick tap of the “X.”

Google notes that translation is one of the most popular uses for Circle to Search, especially for travelers and those browsing international content. This change makes it feel more like a native system feature rather than an add-on.

Google says that the rollout begins this week starting with “select” Samsung Galaxy devices. So yes, if you own a Galaxy device, you’ll be among the first ones to enjoy the feature. More Android devices will surely have the pleasure to enjoy soon. Presumably, we can expect the Galaxy flagships such as the Galaxy S25 series or new foldables to have it first.
