Breaking! Samsung Rolls Out Second One UI 8.5 Beta Update

Two weeks after the initial rollout, Samsung has released the second One UI 8.5 Beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. With this release, the beta program has also expanded to India and Poland. Previously, it was limited to the US, the UK, Germany, and South Korea.

Galaxy S25 series gets second One UI 8.5 Beta update

The latest beta build for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra carries firmware version ZYLH. While this is technically the first beta release for users in India and Poland, it includes all the features and changes introduced with the initial beta in other regions. The update package is slightly larger in these two markets.

As for what’s new since Beta 1, Samsung has focused mainly on stability improvements. The changelog highlights fixes for several known and user-reported bugs, aiming to smooth out performance and reduce early beta issues. You can see the full changelog below (via @tarunvats33):

• Improved the issue of quick panel settings initializing intermittently when booting.
• Improved errors such as quick panel menu screen icon spacing and location.
• Improved the issue of photos organized into gallery group folders being moved to the first album page.
• Improved the stuttering issue when pressing the “More View” menu during a call.
• Improved the intermittent rebooting issue.
• Improved the issue where the volume up button does not work under certain conditions.
• Improved the issue of sound generation in the device when making a call with a Bluetooth car kit connection under certain conditions.
• Improved issues where multiple third-party apps are forcibly terminated while in use.
• Stabilized software through multiple app updates, such as the camera.

As Samsung promised earlier, this update also reintroduces Dual Recording and Single Take camera modes. Samsung removed these with Beta 1 and now brought them back as part of Camera Assistant.

Samsung should roll out a few more One UI 8.5 beta updates for the Galaxy S25 lineup before the stable release. The final build will arrive in the first half of 2026, following the launch of the Galaxy S26 series. Samsung will debut One UI 8.5 on its new flagships first, before expanding the update to older devices. It remains unclear whether the company plans to open beta testing to models beyond the Galaxy S25 series.
