Samsung is moving fast! Just two days after releasing One UI 7.0 Beta 4, the company has rolled out the fifth beta update for the Galaxy S24 series. It’s a minor update but addresses a critical bug for a more stable user experience. It’s unclear if this unexpected update is the final beta release.

Galaxy S24 receives the fifth One UI 7.0 beta update

The latest One UI 7.0 beta update for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra is currently rolling out in the US with firmware version ZYBB. It’s a much smaller update compared to previous releases, weighing just over 436MB for the Ultra model. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s Beta 4 released globally earlier this week weighed nearly 1.4GB.

Unsurprisingly, the changelog is small too. “Fix VVM Crash issue,” the only entry in Samsung’s official release notes states. It appears to be an issue related to the Visible Virtual Machine, likely used by developers. We installed the update and found no other changes. The odd battery icon is still there, and the side button cannot be remapped to launch Gemini.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra also still lacks detailed battery stats after installing the fifth beta build. Long story short, it’s a minor bug fix rather than a full-fledged One UI 7.0 Beta 5. While there have been rumors about Samsung potentially releasing Beta 5 and Beta 6 before the stable build, these are only rumors. The company recently hinted that the stable update will roll out soon.

If all goes smoothly, the Galaxy S24 series could receive the big Android 15-based OS update in the next couple of weeks. As for this minor beta release, it appears to be limited to the US for now — at least at the time of this writing. We will let you know if we discover any major changes in this build.
