After months of waiting, Samsung’s One UI 7 update is finally rolling out. The Galaxy S24 series kicked off the proceedings a little while ago, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 have now joined the party. Samsung will soon release the update for more devices.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 also grab Samsung’s One UI 7 update
As Samsung announced last month, the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy 24, Fold 6, and Flip 6 is first rolling out in its home country of South Korea. The company will gradually expand the rollout to more regions, simultaneously covering more eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Galaxy users in the US are expected to pick up the new version starting on April 10.
The stable One UI 7 build for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 bears firmware version BYCK, while it’s BYCJ for the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Both devices are receiving plenty of new AI tools and camera enhancements alongside a UI overhaul. Samsung originally introduced these features with the Galaxy S25 series in January.
If you are using a Galaxy Z Fold 6 or Flip 6, watch out for this update, which also contains Android 15 goodies from Google. Samsung is initially covering units registered in the One UI 7 beta program, but a wider rollout is just around the corner. You can always manually check for updates from the Settings app. Go to the Software update menu and tab Download and install.
Samsung has dozens of other models lined up for the big update. Many of these devices will also get One UI 8 based on Android 16. Rumors suggest the next versuob will arrive earlier than expected, as early as this July. However, Samsung will take a couple of months to complete the One UI 7 rollout, so some older models may not get One UI 8 until deep into 2025. We will keep you posted.
