When it rains, it pours — and that’s exactly the case with Samsung’s One UI 7 rollout. The company has started releasing the update to a wave of devices all at once. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 are now receiving One UI 7 in the US. Over the past few hours, the update has also reached the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Z Fold 3, Galaxy S23 FE, as well as the S22 and S21 series.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 get One UI 7 in the US

The carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 are receiving Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7 update in the US. The update carrier the firmware build version HYD9 and packs the April 2025 security patch. It’s a massive OTA package with tons of new features and enhancements.

For starters, One UI 7 brings a visual upgrade to Galaxy devices. Samsung has refined system animations and tweaked various UI elements for a smoother user experience. The update also introduces new customization options — both at the system level and through Good Lock — allowing users to personalize their phone. Good Lock, in particular, offers many new customization tools in One UI 7.

Additionally, Samsung worked with Google to integrate Gemini into several first-party apps for intuitive AI-driven experiences. One UI 7 also contains new and enhanced AI tools, though some of those are not compatible with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 due to hardware constraints.

Nonetheless, this update brings plenty to your Samsung foldable. One UI 7 will gradually roll out to the 2022 foldable duo globally. So far, it’s available in Korea and the US. Users can always check for updates from the Settings app (Settings > Software update > Download and install). Rumors suggest Samsung will release One UI 8 earlier than expected, as early as July this year. Other eligible models should receive it before the end of 2025.
