by | May 2, 2025 | Galaxy S, News, One UI, Updates

It’s raining One UI 7 updates in the US today. Shortly after pushing the new version to the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung is rolling out the update to the S21 lineup as well. Both of these flagship lineups picked up One UI 7 in Korea earlier this week. This expansion signals a global release.

One UI 7 is also available for the Galaxy S21 series in the US

Samsung took ages to release One UI 7 for its Galaxy phones and tablets. The rollout began early last month with a rocky start, leading to a temporary suspension due to bugs. However, the company hasn’t looked back since resuming the update in mid-April. It has been rapidly pushing One UI 7 to eligible models worldwide.

At a point, it looked like Samsung wouldn’t deliver the update to the Galaxy S21 series before June, but it defied expectations. One UI 7 is now rolling out to the 2021 flagship lineup in the US, following a Korean release a few days ago. It should just be a matter of time before Samsung releases this update globally.

The Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are picking up One UI 7 in the US with the firmware build number HYDA. We can confirm the rollout for carrier-locked units on select networks, with the package bundling the April security patch. Samsung will soon release the update for all S21 units across the nation and beyond.

Built on Android 15, One UI 7 brings a mix of visual refinements, new features, and performance enhancements. It focuses on improving user experience through smoother animations, updated app designs, and smarter customization options. Enhanced privacy controls, better multitasking tools, and deeper integration with Galaxy ecosystem devices make One UI 7 a well-rounded upgrade.

Samsung will update dozens more Galaxy smartphones and tablets to One UI 7. Users can check for updates by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
