Google releases monthly updates to the Google Play system, which bring improvements to core Android components like the Google Play Store and Play Services. The company has now detailed the April 2025 Google system update notes for a wide range of devices, including Android phones/ tablets, Android TV/ Google TV devices, Android Auto devices, Wear OS devices, and more. Samsung Galaxy device users will receive the latest system update in the coming weeks.

Here’s the first batch of Google Play system updates for April 2025
Google recently published the April 2025 Google System updates notes, outlining the changelog for Play Services, Play Store, and more. The Google Play services v25.13 will bring updates to system management services that will improve the battery life of devices. So, if you are facing a quick battery drain issue, you should update to the latest version once it is available on your Galaxy device. It will also improve the connectivity across various devices, so Galaxy users can expect a more seamless experience when syncing data.
Additionally, the Google Play Store v45.7 update will include an “Ask a question” feature for Android devices, allowing you to find answers with videos. This could be a Gemini Live feature that allows user to talk live with Gemini about anything they see via their phone camera.
The update will soon start rolling out through the Google Play Store and Play Services for eligible Galaxy devices. So get ready to take advantage of these improvements as soon as they become available. For now, Samsung is rolling out the April 2025 security update for several Galaxy devices, including Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Fold SE, and Flip 6. The Google Play services v25.14 introduces several enhancements and fixes across multiple categories. It addresses bugs for Account Management-related services. We now get a new feature that allows receivers to preview content before accepting a Quick Share transfer. It fixes several device connection-related services for a better user experience.
The on-device location history settings page has been updated by incorporating Google Material expressive components. The updates enable a future optional security feature that will automatically restart the device if locked for three consecutive days.
The System Management category includes stability improvements across Auto, PC, Phone, TV, and Wear. It brings a new feature called the Location Time Zone Provider (LTZP) for Auto. Under Utilities, the update makes it easier to set up a new device and transfer data from an old one.
Additionally, Google Play Store v45.8 introduces a new feature for phones that allows users to opt in to promotional notifications from the Notifications and Offers page.

The Google Play services v25.15 introduces several enhancements across multiple categories. For Auto, it has updated system management services to improve privacy, battery life, device storage, and network usage. You can now add new types of cards to your Wear OS devices via the Google Wallet app. Transit passes stored in Google Wallet can now be displayed in Google Maps, allowing users to access them quickly. On top of that, the update improves the Google Wallet receipts experience as well as transit card functionality (in Australia).
As for Google Play Store v45.9, it brings a host of new features for phone users. You can now preview apps through videos shown in search results. During Play onboarding on new devices, you will now see the option to enable promotional notifications. On top of that, the Search Home page shows the latest updates about the games you play.

Google Play services v25.16 introduces several new features for developers and users. For developers, the update brings new features that support device connectivity and account management processes in both Google and third-party apps. In the system management segment, the update improves battery life, device performance, device connectivity, privacy, security, and updatability. As for Google Wallet, the update brings the ability to change the scanned passes. On top of that, Autofill notifications functionality has now expanded to more devices and countries.
In Google Play Store v46.0, users can now opt to get promotional notifications and emails for offers, deals, and more. The update also fixes issues with the drag interaction on the inline install bottom sheet, improving the user experience. Additionally, it introduced a new feature that makes it easier for users to find out how they can use their Google Play Points.
