Samsung appears to have settled on a February 2026 launch window for the Galaxy S26 series. A new report from South Korea claims the company will unveil the new flagships at an Unpacked event in the United States next February. This follows an earlier report claiming a February 25, 2026, launch for the devices.

January launch for the Galaxy S26 series looks unlikely

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 series in January this year and was expected to keep the same timeline for the next-gen models. However, some last-minute changes in the S26 lineup reportedly delayed the launch by 4-5 weeks. Despite some sources claiming a January launch is still on the cards, chances look slim. Yonhap News Agency recently reported that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026.

As said earlier, Samsung is rumored to hold the Galaxy S26 launch event on February 25 in San Francisco, USA. The date falls on a Wednesday, aligning with its usual preference for hosting Unpacked events midweek. If this timeline holds, the new flagships could hit retail shelves in the second week of March. The company typically follows Unpacked with a roughly two-week pre-order period.

The delay reportedly stems from extended specification and model finalization for the base Galaxy S26 and S26+. Samsung is reportedly still fine-tuning hardware decisions, likely to better align performance, thermals, and regional chipset strategies ahead of launch. The Galaxy S26 Ultra, meanwhile, looks ready and already headed for mass production. A separate, early launch of the Ultra is unlikely, though.

Meanwhile, Samsung has officially launched the Exynos 2600, which comes as the world’s first 2nm mobile processor. The chip is expected to power the Galaxy S26 and S26+ in some regions. Perhaps Samsung is delaying the launch to optimize the chip better. The Galaxy S26 Ultra ships with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 globally.
