The Galaxy S25 Slim could be an incredibly slim flagship. According to the Korean media, Samsung is aiming for a thickness of around 6.6mm, a whole 1mm thinner than the Galaxy S24 (7.6mm). The regular Galaxy S25 is rumored to be 7.2mm thick. Apple’s iPhone 17 Air could still beat the S25 Slim in thickness, though.

New leak reveals the Galaxy S25 Slim’s thickness

Both Samsung and Apple are gearing up to launch slim flagships this year. Samsung might tease the Galaxy S25 Slim at Unpacked later this month, followed by a market release a couple of months down the line. Apple’s iPhone 17 Air is likely to arrive alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup in the second half of 2025.

A new report coming from Korea says Samsung’s new slim Galaxy flagship will be around 6.6 mm thick, while Apple aims a thickness of 6.25mm for its “Air” iPhone. This makes the latter 1.65mm thinner than last year’s base iPhone 16 (7.8mm). Interestingly, while Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 Slim as its fourth flagship alongside the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, Apple is replacing the Plus model with the Air.

That said, Apple’s flagship lineup already consists of four models: base, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max. The Plus has been selling the least lately, so the company is introducing a slim model in its place. Samsung’s Plus flagship has also been the least-selling model for years, but the company doesn’t plan to scrap it. The Galaxy S25 Slim will be a completely new offering alongside the regular trio.

Rumors have it that the regular Galaxy S25 flagships will go official at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event on January 22, potentially taking in San Jose, USA. Stick around for more leaks as the company prepares for the big event. As mentioned above, the Slim could make an appearance at the coming Unpakced.
