Samsung’s security update rollout has been a bit slow in recent months, but the company may be getting back on track. It has already started pushing the April 2026 security patch to the Galaxy S26 series on the very first day of the month. The update is rolling out even before the full patch details are out. More devices should receive the new patch in the coming days.

Galaxy S26 series gets Samsung’s April 2026 security update

Samsung once built a reputation for rolling out new security patches even before a new month began. Lately, though, that consistency has slipped, with updates often arriving days or even weeks late. That trend may finally be reversing, as the April patch is landing early on the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra.

As of this writing, Samsung’s latest flagships are picking up this month’s security fixes in South Korea. The update comes with the firmware build version AZCO or AZCL, depending on the model. Samsung could push the same update with different build versions in other regions. The update size also varies by model and region, but typically weighs between 400MB and 600MB.

The official changelog supplied by Samsung, as well as the build number, suggests this update is all about security fixes. There may be some system optimizations, but do not expect new features or functional enhancements here. As mentioned above, Samsung has yet to detail the April 2026 security patch, so we do not know what vulnerabilities have been patched this month.

Nonetheless, you can expect fixes for dozens of security flaws across One UI and Android OS components. The rollout is currently limited to the Galaxy S26 lineup in Korea, but it should soon expand to more markets and models. Galaxy users can check for new updates from Settings > Software update > Download and install.
