We are just hours away from the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 in India. However, a leak suggests that the phones could arrive with a much higher price tag than their predecessors. If true, this will be a big shift in the company’s pricing strategy for its popular Galaxy A-series lineup.

Samsung may push its next-gen Galaxy A series into a higher price range

Tipster Abhishek Yadav recently came across an internal document that reveals the pricing for the upcoming Galaxy A models in India. The Galaxy A57 could retail at INR 56,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant and INR 62,499 for the 12GB/256GB model. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A37 may go official at INR 41,999 for the 8GB/128GB, INR 47,499 for the 8GB/256GB, and INR 52,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant.

These prices are much higher than last year’s models. In comparison (for the base configuration of 8GB/128GB), the Galaxy A56 launched at INR 41,999, while the Galaxy A36 arrived at INR 32,999. This means the next-gen Galaxy A37 will now fall within the price range of last year’s higher-end A model.

In fact, we already saw signs of this coming. Samsung has been gradually increasing the prices of its Galaxy A-series devices in recent months. However, based on leaked key specs, there do not appear to be any significant upgrades that justify such a steep price jump. This could be due to increasing component costs, particularly for memory chips. Another possibility is that the company may be trying to place its mid-range lineup as more premium.

The official launch is scheduled for later today at 5:30 PM IST. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will introduce its familiar launch offers for early buyers. These usually include bank discounts and double storage offers. The latter perk is already running in markets like Thailand, letting buyers score a 512GB model for the price of a 256GB variant.
