Galaxy Z Fold 8 launch may still be months away, but that hasn’t stopped the leaks from coming. Just yesterday, a tipster revealed the key specs, and now we’re already seeing CAD renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Android Headlines, in conjunction with OnLeaks, aka Steve H. McFly, has published these renders.

They’ve also revealed the dimensions, which are a hair thicker than the Fold 7. There’s a good chance that extra thickness is there for a reason, and we’ll explain why in a moment. According to the outlet, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 measures 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.5mm when unfolded and 158.4 x 72.8 x 9mm when folded. Now, let’s take a look at the leaked Galaxy Z Fold 8 renders.

Take a look at the Galaxy Z Fold 8 renders

At first glance, it looks the same as the Fold 7, with little to no visible difference. That was somewhat expected, considering the Fold 7 was already a major upgrade over its predecessors. Still, there could be a few additions, such as a crease-free display and a metal frame, which may make it look and feel better than before.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. Storage configurations are unlikely to change, so we expect 256GB/12GB, 512GB/12GB, and 1TB/16GB variants. Pricing could also stay the same as the predecessor, likely to stay competitive with Apple’s first foldable.

The battery could be 5,000mAh, which would be a big upgrade. Even better, it may support 45W wired charging. We spotted this in China’s 3C certification listing, and it would be a notable upgrade, as Samsung hasn’t pushed charging speeds much since 2020. The report also suggests Samsung may upgrade the ultrawide camera to a 50MP sensor.

The added thickness could also be due to the return of the S Pen. Samsung dropped S Pen support starting with the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition to achieve a slimmer profile, but that decision could be reversed. Still, it’s too early to draw conclusions, so take the S Pen rumor with a pinch of salt.

That said, sign-ups for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Wide Fold, and Flip 8 mystery boxes are now open.
