Samsung Galaxy S26 Users Struggle with Android Auto Connection Issues

Are you experiencing Android Auto connection issues with your Samsung Galaxy S26? Well, you are not alone. Several users have reported that their phones fail to offer a stable connection with their cars due to a bug. Neither Google nor Samsung has acknowledged the issue or confirmed if a fix is on the way.
Android Auto fails to remain connected for some Samsung Galaxy users
For the uninitiated, Android Auto is a smart driving companion app that lets you mirror your phone interface onto the vehicle’s display. It comes in handy for a bunch of use cases such as navigation, music streaming, and messaging. However, the experience has not been reliable with the latest Galaxy S26.
According to user reports (via AutoEvolution), Android Auto connection issues mainly pop up with the wired setup. The phone connects normally at first, but the connection soon falls, only to reconnect again moments later. This makes the feature difficult to use while driving.
One affected user tried common troubleshooting methods, including switching to a high-quality cable, updating their phone, clearing the cache and data of Android Auto, and restarting the device. However, the issue still stayed. Thankfully, for some users, removing all app updates and pairing the phone with the car again appears to have fixed the issue.
Note that the Android Auto connection issue isn’t limited to the latest flagship Galaxy S models. Several older Galaxy models, such as the S23 and S24, have been experiencing similar problems lately. “It used to work fine, but suddenly in the last week or so it will only work about 50% of the time,” said a S24 user.
This suggests the bug could be software-related (rather than hardware), though it’s unclear what’s triggering it. Perhaps the issue is tied to certain car models, as is often the case with Android Auto compatibility. We’ll let you know if either Google or Samsung responds or rolls out a fix in the coming weeks.
