Samsung’s recent smartphones, including the Galaxy S26 lineup, support satellite connectivity across several global markets. Compatible devices can connect to low-Earth orbit satellites to enable emergency messaging and data services in areas without traditional cellular coverage. Now, the company has quietly revealed which apps will work with the new feature.

Samsung reveals apps that support satellite connectivity on Galaxy devices

X tipster @theonecid recently spotted a list of apps that are compatible with satellite connectivity on Galaxy devices. When the phone loses cellular network, these apps can still function by connecting to a satellite. Here are the supported apps, though it may not be the complete list:

  • WhatsApp
  • Google Maps
  • X
  • Grok
  • Google Play Services
  • Google Messages
  • Samsung Account
  • Samsung Find
  • Samsung Health
  • Samsung Weather
  • Find My Mobile
  • Messenger

You can see this list on your Galaxy device by navigating to Settings > Connections > Satellite, as long as your Galaxy device supports satellite connectivity in your region. The exact functionality may vary depending on the region and carrier. In some markets, satellite connectivity may support calls, texts, and data, while in others it may be limited to texting or emergency communications.

Samsung has already confirmed collaborations with a bunch of carriers across Europe, Japan, and North America. It is expected to expand satellite connectivity for Galaxy devices to more regions in the coming years.

As far as supported models are concerned, Galaxy S22 and newer flagships boast satellite connectivity in most of the aforementioned markets. In some regions, select Galaxy A-series devices also support the feature. But again, the list is region and carrier-specific. Certain models may support satellite connectivity in some markets and carriers, but not in others. Stay tuned for further updates.
