Galaxy Z Flip 8 Battery Leak Brings No Surprises

Now that the excitement around the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has begun to settle, attention is gradually shifting toward Samsung’s next-gen foldables. Amid rumors that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may launch at the same price as its predecessor, we have information about the Galaxy Z Flip 8’s battery capacity. It appears the next Flip won’t get a larger battery, though it’s no surprise.

No battery capacity increase expected for the Galaxy Z Flip 8

According to a GalaxyClub report, Samsung may equip the Galaxy Z Flip 8 with a 4,300mAh battery, identical to the one used in the Flip 7. This isn’t particularly surprising, as the company has substantially increased the battery capacity of its Flip phones for two consecutive generations. Samsung went from a 3,700mAh cell in the Flip 5 to a 4,000mAh unit in the Flip 6, before increasing it again to 4,300mAh in the Flip 7.

The Flip 8 would now mark a pause after two consecutive upgrades of 300mAh in the series. As usual, the upcoming model will feature two separate battery packs. One bears the model number EB-BF776 and has a rated capacity of 1,150mAh, while the other carries the identifier EB-BF777 and has a rated capacity of 3,024mAh. The combined total comes in at 4,174mAh, which means a typical capacity of 4,300mAh.

Even if the battery size stays the same, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could deliver better endurance. The device is rumored to use Samsung’s 2nm Exynos 2600 chipset, which also powers the Galaxy S26 and S26+ in most global markets. Samsung has focused heavily on power efficiency as it pushes to make phones slimmer and lighter rather than increasing the battery capacity.

We should learn more about the Galaxy Z Flip 8 (SM-F776) and Fold 8 (SM-F976) in the coming months. Samsung is likely to stick with its usual foldable launch schedule, which should mean an official launch between July and August this year.
