Galaxy S26 Quick Share Works with Apple AirDrop [U]

UPDATE 02/27 2:31 PM: It doesn’t work yet. However, @chunvn8888 suggests that an update will bring the functionality, and that may rollout when the Galaxy S26 series goes on sale. It goes on sale starting March 11.
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series has just launched, and the company has introduced a new Quick Share upgrade. The Galaxy S26 lineup lets users send and receive files with Apple devices that support AirDrop. Google’s Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series already support this functionality, and now Samsung’s latest flagships have joined them.
Galaxy S26 lineup brings cross-platform file sharing with Apple devices
Sharing files between Android and Apple devices has always been a hassle. With the Galaxy S26 lineup, users can now transfer files not only between Android devices but also with compatible Apple products. This makes sharing images, videos, and documents much easier across both ecosystems.
To send files to an Apple device, make sure the recipient has AirDrop set to “Everyone.” Once their device becomes visible, select it from your phone and share the required files.
If you are receiving files from an Apple device, open Quick Share from the Quick Panel. Your phone will become visible to nearby Apple devices. The sender can then choose your device and send the files directly.
Samsung also notes that while sharing with Apple devices is enabled, your phone may temporarily disconnect from Wi-Fi. This likely helps the device search for nearby Apple products and complete the transfer smoothly.
It’s worth noting that the feature doesn’t appear to work out of the box. It may still require some updates, perhaps a newer Google Play System release. We checked on a Galaxy S26 Ultra running the November 2025 build, and Quick Share couldn’t find an iPhone (AirDrop). We will let you know when the function rolls out.
For those unaware, Quick Share is Android’s file-sharing feature, while AirDrop is Apple’s native solution. In the past, sharing between these two ecosystems was difficult due to restrictions. Now, the process feels much simpler, especially for users who use Samsung phones along with iPads or MacBooks. This narrows the interoperability gap between Android and iOS.
If you are wondering about older Samsung devices, eligible models that receive the One UI 8.5 stable update are likely to get this feature. We will let you know when we have confirmation.
