Major Samsung Care+ Overhaul Brings Better Protection for More Galaxy Users

Samsung has announced a major upgrade to Samsung Care+, its official device protection service, in Europe. The company is bringing broader coverage and more flexibility for customers across the region. The enhanced Samsung Care+ program will roll out from January 29 in 17 European markets, including the UK.
Samsung Care+ now promises unlimited repairs and longer coverage in Europe
One of the biggest changes is the move to unlimited accidental damage repairs. Previously capped at two repairs per year, Samsung Care+ will now cover unlimited fixes for drops, spills, and other accidents, all carried out using Samsung-certified parts. Samsung has also simplified excess fees, applying a consistent charge regardless of the type or severity of damage.
Additionally, the company is extending coverage length. Customers can now protect their devices for up to five years, compared to the earlier three-year limit. You also get 24/7 customer support, replacing the previous restricted support hours. On top of this, Samsung has removed the 60-day travel limit, meaning Samsung Care+ now offers protection both at home and abroad without restrictions.
To support this change, the Korean giant has expanded its repair network, adding 175 new walk-in repair locations across Europe, with more planned in the future. Customers can choose between walk-in repairs for quick fixes or send-in repairs, where Samsung arranges device collection and delivery. Claims can be filed online or by phone at any time, day or night.
The new Samsung Care+ also acts as an extended warranty. If a device suffers mechanical or electrical failure after the standard warranty expires, Samsung Care+ will cover the repair for the duration of the policy. Devices whose battery capacity drops below 80% after the standard warranty period are eligible for a free battery replacement.
More flexible payments, and theft protection
The updated Samsung Care+ service applies to a wide range of Galaxy products, covering smartphones, tablets, wearables, and PCs, and significantly expands what customers get compared to the previous version. To make things easier for customers, Samsung is introducing a monthly payment option that allows coverage for up to 60 months, with the freedom to cancel at any time. A traditional two-year upfront plan will also remain available.
For extra peace of mind, customers can optionally add theft and loss protection. Under this plan, Samsung will dispatch a replacement device within 48 hours after your claim gets approved. Thanks to Samsung Knox Guard, you can remotely lock a lost or stolen device to personal data and prevent misuse. Samsung Care+ already offers most of these features in the US, and Samsung is now bringing this broader coverage to its European customers.
“We’ve listened to our customers and completely transformed what Samsung Care+ should be,” said Richard Chang, Corporate Vice President, Mobile Division, Samsung UK & Ireland. “Device protection now matches a reality where people are always connected and on the move…. Whether you’re at home or abroad, help is always nearby. Samsung Care+ now works as hard as our customers do.”
