Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Specs: What Makes This Phone Special

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra arrives as the most advanced Galaxy S flagship yet. While the phone does not bring revolutionary upgrades over the S25 Ultra, it aims to attract users with subtle design tweaks, new display features, meaningful camera hardware improvements, faster charging speeds, and more. Here’s a key specs of the 2026 flagship model.
Samsung refreshes the look and brings meaningful display upgrades
Speaking of design, Samsung gives the Galaxy S26 Ultra a fresh look while retaining its Ultra identity. The phone features more rounded corners for improved ergonomics, along with a new pill-shaped rear camera island similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It arrives with a thinner, lighter profile than its predecessor. The handset measures 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9mm and weighs 214 grams.
As for display, the Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display (M14 Panel) with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,120 pixels and a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz. It introduces a Privacy Display feature that caps visibility from side angles. S Pen support stays, but without Bluetooth features.

Cameras improvements
In the camera department, the Galaxy S26 Ultra features the same 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main sensor as the S25 Ultra. That said, Samsung has widened the aperture to f/1.4, up from f/1.7 on the 2025 model. This means you can expect improved low-light photography and better natural-looking skin tones. The company continues using the same 50MP sensor for the ultrawide unit.
However, Samsung makes some minor tweaks to the telephoto cameras. The Galaxy S26 Ultra features the 50MP 5x periscope telephoto sensor with a wider f/2.9 aperture instead of the f/3.4 used in the predecessor. The 3x telephoto camera uses a new 12MP sensor (1/3.94-inch). For comparison, the Galaxy S25 Ultra uses a 10MP 3x telephoto sensor with a 1/3.52-inch sensor. On the front, the Ultra flagship features a 12MP resolution camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
Performance, battery, and software
Performance-wise, Samsung powers the Galaxy S26 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip globally. The phone starts with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with higher configurations going up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
While the battery capacity remains unchanged at 5,000 mAh, we finally see faster charging speeds. The Galaxy S26 Ultra supports 60W wired charging and 25W wireless charging (compared to 45W wired and 15W wireless on the S25 Ultra). Moreover, the phone supports Qi2 wireless charging (with a magnetic case). On the software side, Samsung ships Galaxy S26 Ultra with next-gen One UI 8.5 build (based on Android 16).
