Bixby Update and Bug Fixes: See Full One UI 8.5 Beta 4 Changelog

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 beta rollout pattern suggests that Beta 4 should land on Monday, January 19, 2026. Even if it slips slightly, the update is expected by January 20. In the meantime, the changelog has already leaked, showing a refinement-focused release aimed at fixing usability issues.
One UI 8.5 Beta 4 changelog: What’s new
According to Samsung leaker @tarunvats33, the upcoming One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy S25 series carries firmware version ZZAB. It bundles several targeted fixes across system apps and core behaviors. Samsung has included a “Bixby update,” which should mean the new Perplexity-powered Bixby is now rolling out to users.
Additionally, Beta 4 brings several fixes to the Phone app, an area where even small bugs can feel disruptive:
- Tapping items in search history now works correctly
- Phone numbers pasted into the keypad after clicking a call link no longer cause issues
- Calls should no longer switch unexpectedly to the phone speaker under specific conditions when using a Bluetooth headset
Last but not least, this update addresses a bug in AI Select, which previously failed to close automatically after selecting “Copy.” While minor on paper, this behavior break could interrupt workflows. There may be some hidden bug fixes or functional improvements. Rumors suggest we will see smoother system animations and fluidity. We will let you know once we install the new build on our Galaxy S25.
Unfortunately, Samsung doesn’t seem to have plans for a broader beta release. One UI 8.5 Beta is limited to the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in the US, the UK, India, Germany, Poland, and South Korea. There’s little chance the company will expand the beta programs. Galaxy users must wait until the stable release, which may begin in March following the Galaxy S26 release. Stay tuned for more updates.
