Samsung Begins Early Production of OLED Displays for Apple’s MacBook Pro

Samsung makes and supplies some of the best OLED displays for Apple’s iPhones. According to a new report, Samsung has begun mass production of what could be the world’s best OLED laptop screens for the MacBook Pro. This appears to be ahead of schedule, and Samsung Display will help make Apple’s OLED MacBook Pro a reality.
OLED MacBook Pro inches closer to reality as Samsung Display starts production
The news comes from Korean blogger yeux1122 on Naver, who claims that Samsung Display is now mass producing OLED panels at the company’s Asan A6 plant. The facility runs an 8.6-generation production line for dual-stack OLED technology. Interestingly, production appears to have begun months earlier than initially planned, with the displays expected to deliver top-tier image quality.

So much so that they could easily be the best OLED screens on the market. Dual-stack OLED offers higher brightness and a longer lifespan compared to current laptop OLED panels, which Apple already uses in the iPad Pro. Whenever it launches, it should be real eye candy.
The OLED MacBook Pro probably won’t arrive before late 2026 or early 2027. It will likely feature the upcoming M6 chipset, which makes early 2027 seem more probable. That’s because Apple is also expected to launch M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models before then, according to reports.
What’s more, the M6 MacBook Pro is expected to be available in 14-inch and 16-inch variants. It may also replace the notch with a hole-punch camera or a pill-shaped cutout, much like the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. That would also mean Apple is likely to offer an upgraded FaceTime camera. Whatever happens, we’ll be sure to let you know.
