Samsung announced that Samsung Wallet now supports digital key access for select Toyota vehicles. The feature will be available first on the 2026 Toyota RAV4. Starting this month, you can use your Galaxy phone as a car key to lock, unlock, and access your vehicle without carrying a physical key.

Support for more Toyota vehicles will be added later

The feature is rolling out first in the US, Canada, and Mexico, with Europe expected to follow later alongside the wider launch of 2026 Toyota models. Samsung says more Toyota vehicles will be added over time, although exact models and timelines haven’t been confirmed yet.

Digital Key support works through a secure key stored in Samsung Wallet. You can unlock the car, start it remotely, and enable hands-free entry as you approach the vehicle. Better yet, you can share these keys with family members or trusted contacts.

You can also revoke access instantly when needed. If a phone is lost or stolen, you can remotely lock or delete the digital key using Samsung Find. Samsung also highlights security in its press release, saying the Digital Key meets EAL6+ certification standards and supports both ultra-wideband and NFC technologies. Phones with UWB offer the best experience, including more precise hands-free unlocking.

“By bringing Digital Key support to Toyota vehicles, starting with the 2026 Toyota RAV4, we’re extending those benefits to more people, so that Galaxy users can get on the road faster, safer and more easily,” said Woncheol Chai, Samsung MX’s head of Digital Wallet team.

This move adds Toyota to a growing list of car brands working with Samsung Wallet. Over the past year, Samsung has added support for brands like Mercedes, Porsche, Volvo, Rivian, Mahindra, and BYD.
