Samsung will likely announce the Galaxy S26 series in late February, and they’ll go on sale starting March 11 in Europe and apparently elsewhere. Of course, the spotlight will be on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, for which a bunch of details have already leaked. But one rather interesting detail suggests that it won’t outdo the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in at least one way.

Galaxy S26 Ultra bezel likely won’t defeat the Galaxy Z Flip 7

Noted leaker Ice Universe writes on X that until the Galaxy Z Flip 8 arrives, no Samsung phones will feature narrower bezels than the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The same applies to the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. For clarity (nerds can ignore this), the bezels are basically the thin borders around the screen, the small strip between what actually lights up and the phone’s frame.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s bezel is 1.32 mm, which the company says is 13.2% thinner than its predecessor. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s bezel measures 1.52 mm. Another official data point from Samsung reveals that the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s bezel is 1.25 mm. So, according to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s bezel won’t be narrower than the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s cover screen.

That said, of course, they’re different phones and don’t belong in the same category. The Galaxy Z Flip series consists of clamshell foldables, while the Galaxy S Ultra phones represent the best Samsung offers. It’s entirely a matter of choice which one you pick.

And if you’re going with the Galaxy S26 Ultra (or any model), you can get a free mystery box with every purchase. Samsung likely won’t hike prices for the Galaxy S26 series, at least in the US. You will get a bunch of free accessories with every purchase and registrations are open (US only).
