Samsung has officially transitioned its Smart Club loyalty program in India to a new global-aligned loyalty ecosystem called Samsung Rewards. This shift, which began earlier this month, is now mandatory for all Smart Club members who wish to continue earning and redeeming loyalty points and benefits. Here’s everything you need to know about this migration.
What is Samsung Rewards?
Samsung Rewards is a unified loyalty program operated by Samsung that allows customers to earn reward points on eligible purchases of Samsung products and services. Buyers can redeem those points for future purchases or benefits. The program already exists in several global markets, and Samsung is now bringing it to India, replacing the older Smart Club system.
By phasing out India’s localized loyalty initiative, the company offers a more standardized experience for customers worldwide. Under Samsung Rewards:
- Members earn points based on purchase amounts, with earn rates increasing as they move through membership tiers
- You can earn reward points on eligible purchases made through the Samsung Shop app, Samsung.com, Samsung’s official retail stores and authorized offline partners, and Samsung’s BKC store and select brand shops
- Once earned, points can be redeemed toward future purchases or benefits within the Samsung ecosystem
- Points have a validity of 36 months, after which unredeemed points expire
How to migrate from Smart Club?
Samsung began this migration in mid-December 2025. The shift is now mandatory for users if they want to retain access to their earned points and tier status. The company is notifying all existing Smart Club users via SMS and email with migration links and prompts. Here’s how the migration process typically works:
- Members receive an official migration link via SMS or email, or can visit Samsung’s migration portal
- Enter the registered mobile number and verify with an OTP
- Review the existing Smart Club points balance
- Provide consent and sign in (or sign up) with a Samsung account
- Upon completion, your account will successfully transfer into Samsung Rewards
Existing Smart Club points and tier status are transferred to Samsung Rewards at full value and retained once the migration is completed, so customers do not lose their accumulated benefits during the move.
If a member fails to migrate before the deadline (currently 15 December 2026), their Smart Club points and status will expire. After that date, unused points are forfeited and cannot be transferred into Samsung Rewards. Additionally, customers who do not migrate will not earn new points for any purchases made after the migration deadline unless they enroll in Samsung Rewards via a Samsung account.
Samsung Rewards membership tiers
Samsung Rewards has four tiers:
- Base – Entry level with standard rewards
- Blue (Plus in Smart Club) – Spend βΉ15,000 or more and earn up to 1.25% reward points
- Gold (Pro in Smart Club) – Spend βΉ75,000 or more and earn up to 1.5% reward points
- Platinum (Elite in Smart Club) – Spend βΉ2,00,000 or more and earn up to 2% reward points
In short, Samsung isn’t changing the eligibility criteria for customers. The transition is largely a rebranding exercise rather than a functional overhaul, aimed at bringing India’s loyalty program in line with the company’s global offerings.
