Samsung appears to be preparing the third One UI 8.5 Beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. A new beta build has recently surfaced on the company’s internal testing servers, pointing to active development. It may roll out in mid-January, if not next week. There’s still no sign of a beta release for other devices.

New One UI 8.5 beta build for Galaxy S25 spotted on test servers

First spotted by @tarunvats33, the latest One UI 8.5 beta firmware for the Galaxy S25 series carries build version ZYLL. While it may or may not roll out as Beta 3, this sighting confirms that Samsung is currently testing this build internally. The company could prepare another build for public rollout in the coming days.

As things stand, we do not have information about the changes the next beta could bring. But as usual, you can expect bug fixes and system optimizations for enhanced system stability and smoother performance. Beta 2, released last week, also addressed early usability issues and performance inconsistencies, while adding a few new features.

As far as the release date is concerned, Galaxy S25 users participating in One UI 8.5 Beta expect the third beta to arrive on January 5, 2026. Samsung typically releases new beta builds on Monday, with a two-week gap between each release. The initial beta build dropped on December 8, followed by Beta 2 on December 22. As such, January 5 is the likely date for Beta 3.

However, if Samsung decides to delay the third beta, it could arrive the following week, i.e., January 12. We should get a clear idea in the coming days as the development progresses. Given the remaining development window, the company may roll out additional beta updates beyond Beta 3 later in January and February. The stable version will debut with the Galaxy S26 series in late February or early March.
