Theme Park App Update Now Required for One UI 7 and One UI 8

Samsung’s Good Lock team has issued a notice for Theme Park users, warning that older versions of the app are no longer compatible with recent One UI releases. The announcement follows a wave of user reports about broken or missing Theme Park features after updating their devices. If you’re still running an outdated version, update now to avoid functionality issues and ensure a smooth experience.

Theme Park users on One UI 7 or higher must update now

According to the Theme Park development team, users running Theme Park version 1.0.xx on One UI 7 need to update to the latest version as soon as possible. Older versions rely on a legacy theme format that is no longer compatible with newer One UI releases. The notice also reveals that themes created using the old APK-based format are not supported on One UI 8. You can identify these themes with an “apk” tag in their preview image.

Older Theme Park versions still allow One UI 7 users to apply existing themes, though you cannot create new themes. However, on One UI 8, previously created themes won’t appear at all in your theme list. In other words, updating the app is a must for full functionality. In fact, you should always keep apps updated to ensure optimal performance and a bug-free experience.

The Good Lock team says this shift dates back to One UI 6, when Samsung reworked Theme Park’s theme application system starting with version 1.1.xx. The newer framework was introduced to deliver several key improvements, including faster theme creation and application, more reliable theme behavior across the system, and automatic theme application for newly installed apps.

Because of this underlying change, older APK-based themes are incompatible with One UI 8’s new system architecture. You can update Theme Park from the Galaxy Store or directly through Good Lock.
