December 2025 Patch Rolls Out for Six More Galaxy A and M Series Phones

The December 2025 security patch has been released for many Galaxy devices this week, especially budget and midrange models. Samsung has now expanded the rollout to more Galaxy A and M series smartphones. The Galaxy A15 4G, Galaxy A33, Galaxy A17 4G, Galaxy M16, and both the Galaxy A16 4G and A16 5G are the latest devices to join the list.

Galaxy A15 4G, A33, A17 4G, A16 4G, A16 5G, and M16 receive December 2025 Update

Samsung’s most popular budget phone, the Galaxy A15 4G, has received the December 2025 security update. The update is currently live in South Korea and carries the firmware version A155NKSS7CYL1. The December 2025 security patch fixes around 68 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and their partners. It does not bring any major new features, but improves the overall security of the device.

The Galaxy A33 has also picked up the December 2025 security update, following its sibling, the Galaxy A53. As expected, the update was first released in Samsung’s home country, South Korea. The December security patch for the Galaxy A33 carries the build version A336NKSSCGYL1.

The Galaxy A17 4G, which was launched earlier this year, has also received the December 2025 security update. This becomes the second software update for the device since launch. The update is currently live in regions such as Europe, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, and a few other markets. The build version for the European variant is A175FXXS2BYL1.

On the M series side, the Galaxy Wide 8, aka the Galaxy M16, is the only M series device on this list to receive the December patch so far. The update is live in South Korea and carries the firmware version M166SKSS4BYL1. Meanwhile, both the 4G and 5G variants of the Galaxy A16 have also received their December 2025 security update in Korea. The LTE variant carries the build A165NKSS4CYL1, while the 5G model comes with build version A166LKSS4BYL2.
