Samsung Expands December 2025 Security Patch to Older Galaxy Foldables and Tablets

The December 2025 security patch rollout has been in full swing since last week. Many Galaxy devices have already received the update. Samsung has now expanded the update to include a few older tablets and foldables. The Galaxy Tab S8 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Z Fold 4, and Z Flip 4 are the latest devices to receive the December 2025 security patch.

Galaxy Tab S8 Series, Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Fold 4 and Flip 4 receive December 2025 security patch

Samsung has started rolling out the December 2025 update for the Galaxy Tab S8 series in its home market, South Korea. All models in the lineup, including the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra, are receiving the update. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Wi-Fi variant carries the firmware version X900XXS9EYK1. This update fixes around 57 security vulnerabilities. They were identified by Samsung, Google, and other partners. Earlier today, Samsung released the December 2025 update for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE too.

On the foldable side, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 have also joined the list. Samsung has started rolling out the December 2025 security patch for these devices in South Korea. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is receiving the update with build version F936NKSS6IYL1. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 carries the build F721NKSS6IYL1.

As for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, the update is live as well, with build versions F946NKSS5FYL2 and F731NKSS5FYL1 respectively. The update package is over 400 MB for both devices. It update does not bring any new features and is expected to expand to more regions in the coming days.

If you own any of the devices mentioned above, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the download is complete, tap Install now. Your device will restart with the latest December 2025 security patch.
