Galaxy Ring 2 Unlikely to Launch Alongside Galaxy S26 Series

For those who don’t like wearing a smartwatch but still care about tracking their fitness, the Galaxy Ring is the answer. Samsung launched the Galaxy Ring last July, and many may now be wondering when its successor will arrive. There is some bad news if you were hoping for a Galaxy Ring 2 launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series.
Samsung may not launch Galaxy Ring 2 anytime soon, and you may have to wait
Korea JoongAng Daily reports that Samsung is unlikely to launch the Galaxy Ring 2 at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in early 2026. Moreover, the report reiterates that Samsung will host the Galaxy S26 series launch event in San Francisco and that it will take place in February, which goes somewhat against the previously tipped launch schedule.
That aside, the report also discusses Samsung’s ongoing patent dispute with Oura, one of the key smart ring makers in the industry. Notably, Oura has filed a complaint with the US ITC, in which the company is also seeking a sales ban against Samsung and other smart ring makers over alleged patent infringement.
So even though the report barely connects these two developments, this could point to a possible reason behind the launch delay. Another possibility is that Samsung simply needs more time to refine the Galaxy Ring 2 and pack in more advanced technology before making it official. It may also be trying to avoid unnecessary drama amid the ongoing lawsuit.
In any case, the chances of seeing the Galaxy Ring 2 launch in early 2026 now seem rather slim. For now, Samsung is selling the Galaxy Ring for $279.99, which is $120 off. You can choose any size between 5 and 15, and Samsung also offers a free sizing kit if you are unsure about your fit.
