Samsung’s First One UI 8.5 Beta is Missing Camera Features

If you’re planning to install the One UI 8.5 beta on your Galaxy S25, be aware that a couple of familiar camera modes are missing. The first beta quietly removes Dual Recording and Single Take from the stock Camera app. It won’t affect most users, but it’s still something to keep in mind. Samsung is expected to restore these features in upcoming beta builds, or almost certainly in the stable release.
Samsung removed two camera modes in One UI 8.5 Beta
The stock camera app on Galaxy S25 phones offers a bunch of different shooting modes under the More tab. However, in One UI 8.5 Beta, the Dual Recording and Single Take options are missing. Most of you might already be familiar with these modes. The former allows you to record video from two cameras simultaneously. You can pair the front camera with any rear camera or use any two rear cameras at the same time.
Single Take, meanwhile, captures a burst of different media formats. You get filtered images, cropped shots, collages, highlight videos, rebound clips, and slow-motion videos, all in one go. It is extremely handy for capturing spontaneous moments in various formats without switching between shooting modes. However, installing One UI 8.5 Beta means you cannot use SingleTake and Dual Recording. If these features are critical for you, stay out of Beta for the time being.
Samsung hasn’t provided an official explanation, but these modes may have been disabled temporarily due to ongoing development. Hopefully, it will restore both options in Beta 2, expected later this month. Better yet, if SingleTake and Dual Recording see some functional improvements. The second wave may also bring One UI 8.5 Beta to more devices and regions. We’ll keep an eye on upcoming beta updates and let you know accordingly.
