Samsung may no longer promise monthly security patches for the Galaxy S21 series, but it continues to deliver regular updates to them. The November 2025 security update is now rolling out to the 2021 flagship lineup. The devices also received the October patch. The company is likely to pull support for the Galaxy S21 lineup sometime next year.

Galaxy S21 series gets November 2025 security update

Earlier this year, Samsung demoted the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra from monthly updates to quarterly security patches. Technically, these phones should now receive new updates once every three months. However, the company still rolls out new security patches to them almost every month.

The latest release brings last month’s security patch to the devices. The update is now live in Europe, carrying the firmware build version HYK1. It improves overall device security and system stability, ensuring a smoother and more reliable experience. Samsung previously revealed that the November 2025 SMR (security maintenance release) addresses over 40 vulnerabilities across the Galaxy lineup.

Of course, the Galaxy S21 trio isn’t getting new features or enhancements. Samsung has already ended feature updates for the lineup: they didn’t even receive One UI 8. All recent firmware releases for these devices are meant to enhance system security and reliability. These upgrades help maintain user safety as the device ages, especially valuable for a phone still widely used around the world.

The Galaxy S21 FE, meanwhile, remains eligible for monthly security patches. This model arrived almost a year after the main lineup and even picked up One UI 8. It is expected to receive One UI 8.5 in the first half of 2026. The new version debuts with the Galaxy S26 series in the first quarter of next year. Galaxy users can always check for new updates from Settings> Software update > Download and install.
