Samsung’s QD-OLED continues to power TVs and monitors from different companies. Philips recently launched its latest gaming monitor, the Evnia 27M2N6501L, with this cutting-edge display technology. This shows the Korean firm’s increasing influence in the premium display market.

Philips Evnia 27M2N6501L uses Samsung’s QD-OLED panel

The latest Philips monitor features a 27-inch (26.5″ / 67.3 cm) QD-OLED panel made by Samsung Display. QD-OLED technology combines OLED and quantum dot technologies. This panel offers high contrast, deep blacks, wide viewing angles, higher peak brightness, and more vibrant colours. With a Quad HD resolution of 2560 × 1440 and a 240 Hz refresh rate, the monitor delivers smooth and responsive gameplay.

One of the major concerns for users of QD-OLED screens is the risk of burn-in. To solve this, Philips has integrated a graphene cooling shield into the monitor. This layer spreads heat more evenly and cools the panel effectively than traditional materials. As a result, it reduces stress on the pixels and helps the screen last longer.

Samsung says that QD-OLED boasts more than 99% DCI-P3 and 90% BT2020 colour coverage. This makes it one of the widest colour ranges available in modern displays. As such, the panel benefits from OLED’s deep blacks while achieving brighter colours through quantum dots’ optical characteristics.

Philips has also integrated its AI-enhanced Ambiglow feature to create a truly immersive and customisable experience. The feature analyses the on-screen image and adapts the colour and brightness of the emitted light. As far as pricing is concerned, the monitor costs £399 in the UK and €499 in the Eurozone.

Meanwhile, if you are looking for a Samsung-branded QD-OLED monitor, the latest 27-inch Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) could be a good pick. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 certified, meaning it can produce incredibly deep black levels and high contrast ratios. As part of Black Friday deals, it is available for just $834, down from $1,299. This is a perfect opportunity for gamers to upgrade their setup.
