Samsung to Produce Millions of OLED Panels for Apple’s 2026 iPad Mini

Apple is preparing one of the biggest upgrades ever for its smallest tablet. After years of sticking with LCD, the company may launch the first iPad Mini with an OLED display in 2026, a move that would dramatically improve its display quality. A new report now reinforces earlier rumors, claiming Samsung will serve as the primary supplier for these advanced OLED panels, if not the only supplier.
Samsung to supply OLED panels for the 2026 iPad Mini
According to ETnews, Samsung will start mass production of the 8.4-inch OLED display for the next-gen iPad Mini in July 2026. The timeline aligns with Apple’s usual iPad launch cycle. Samsung will reportedly supply up to three million OLED panels for the device next year. The order size might go up depending on the demand once Apple officially introduces the device.
That said, it’s unclear if Samsung will be the only display supplier for the upcoming iPad Mini or if Apple has locked in other suppliers too. The company has a diverse display supply chain for iPhones as well, but Samsung is its primary supplier. Things should get clearer in the coming months as the development proceeds.
There are rumors that Apple will rely solely on Samsung for the 2026 iPad Mini display. If true, it would mark another major win for the Korean firm’s display division, especially as Apple continues expanding OLED adoption across its product portfolio. Reports suggest the company is also developing its first OLED MacBook Pro for 2026, with Samsung expected to supply displays for that as well.
Since the MacBook Pro sales remain strong worldwide, this would significantly boost Samsung’s OLED shipments next year. In fact, Samsung is also taking BOE’s share of iPhone 17 displays after the latter allegedly struggles with technical issues. All of this could really drive up the Korean firm’s display earnings in 2026. More details are awaited.
