Samsung continues to innovate with cutting-edge display products to stand out in the global display market. The company expects the market will see solid demand for flexible products in 2030 due to consumers’ growing interest in advanced form factors. It aims to maintain leadership during that wave while meeting clients’ expectations.

Samsung aims to meet the upcoming demand for flexible displays

During a recent meeting with employees in Asan, South Korea, Yi Chung, CEO of Samsung Display, shared the company’s vision for its premium product lineup. This includes conversations about the company’s flexible displays for foldable smartphones. Yi said that the firm will plan to focus on such premium products.

“As we expect an explosive growth in the foldable market in 2030, we plan to lead sales based on our distinctive technology leadership,” said the executive. “With rivals aggressively catching up in terms of technology, we need to review whether our products’ quality and manufacturing competitiveness meet clients’ expectations.”

Furthermore, Yi said Samsung Display will work to improve production of its new 8.6-generation OLED displays. Built for IT devices like monitors and tablets, these next-generation panels will be commercialized next year. He also asked employees to focus on three key values: technology, clients, and execution. This strategy could help the company make better products in the display market.

Launched in July 2025, Samsung’s latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, have been selling well despite their steep prices. This suggests that buyers are gradually leaning towards foldable screens. Meanwhile, the company may launch its Galaxy Z TriFold on December 5, 2025. It will feature a 6.5-inch cover display and a 10-inch foldable (main) screen. As such, the phone will transform the device into a tablet-like display.

In addition to smartphones, Samsung Display will also develop 18-inch flexible OLED panels for Apple’s iPad. So, the company has already struck supply deals with clients for these next-generation displays. We should learn its strategy to advance and innovate its flexible products in the coming months.
