Galaxy Z TriFold Is Giving Limited Edition Vibes Already

Samsung has already showcased what could debut as the Galaxy Z TriFold in select markets. Hopefully, the US will be part of the launch, even though early leaks suggested otherwise. A recent Bluetooth SIG listing, however, gives fans a bit of hope. According to a report from Korean media, the device might still be hard to come by.
Galaxy Z TriFold may be hard to come by as initial production remains limited
The Elec has learnt that Samsung is currently producing parts for the Galaxy Z TriFold, with only around 20,000 to 30,000 components made so far. This suggests that initial production will be limited, which could make the Galaxy Z TriFold harder to get your hands on if you’ve been saving up for it. Samsung isn’t planning mass production just yet. Instead, the company appears to be testing how the market responds to this new foldable design.

Suppliers working with Samsung say they haven’t received any new or additional orders for components. This indicates that Samsung wants to gauge the phone’s performance before deciding whether to ramp up production. For now, the company seems to be preparing a small initial batch for launch. Which likely explains why reports continue to suggest that availability will be limited to select markets.
Earlier this year, supply chain sources claimed that Samsung planned to produce between 50,000 and 150,000 tri-fold phones. However, the company now appears to be starting with a smaller batch due to the design’s complexity and the need for testing. Producing fewer units could help minimize defects and give suppliers time to refine the manufacturing process.
Moreover, previous reports suggest that the Galaxy Z TriFold definitely will come with a pricey price tag. The latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 launched at $1,999 for the 256GB model, although it’s currently available for around $1,399 without trade-ins. Based on that, the Galaxy Z TriFold could easily cost around $3,000. Or possibly even more.
